Canva’s Visual Suite

Running one campaign across a whiteboard, a doc, a spreadsheet, a deck, and a site usually means five subscriptions and hours lost exporting and rebuilding the same work. Canva just closed that gap.

  • AI charts inside Sheets: raw data becomes a chart or table you can drop straight into a doc or deck from a prompt, no exporting or reuploading.

  • Whiteboard to document in one click: turn a brainstorm into a formatted brief without retyping the notes.

  • Presentations that prep themselves: one-click presenting and auto-generated presenter notes, plus richer Docs banners and Website navigation for up to 20 sections.

These upgrades answer more than 55,000 user requests and keep an entire project in one file, from the first sticky note to the published page. That means one source of truth, so a figure fixed in the sheet updates the deck and the doc with it.

Check the AI output: test generated charts against your source data, and expect some cleanup when content moves between formats.

Steal a Playbook from Zapier's Free ZapConnect Sessions

Free workshops and real rollouts, live today or on demand, ready to copy into your own stack.

Most teams already pay for automation tools they barely use, while AI pilots stall before they reach daily work.

ZapConnect 2026, the free virtual conference from Zapier, runs today, September 23, with 30+ sessions of workshops, rollouts, and keynotes. Register free to watch live or on demand: every session stays up for four weeks, so anything you missed is a click away.

Sessions worth queuing up:

  • Put AI to work across your stack: "Claude + Zapier: Connect any app your business runs on" puts one assistant to work across 9,000+ tools, no dev team needed.

  • Proof it scales: "How Mercari handles 120k support tickets a month with AI" breaks down resolving 47k of them without a human.

  • Make the numbers hold up: "95% of pilots stall. Here's how to be the 5%" covers how to measure an AI project's value and move it into production.

What you walk away with:

  • Frameworks for rolling out AI without a big budget or a dev team.

  • A clearer read on where a human still needs to stay in the loop.

  • Governance basics that let people build fast while sensitive systems stay locked down.

Turn a Top-Down AI Mandate Into a Number Leadership Trusts

When the people setting the AI agenda barely use the tools, automate proof, not opinions.

Leadership hands your team an "adopt AI" mandate, then sets no metrics and frees up no time to hit it. That gap is real: a survey of roughly 6,000 executives found 69% use AI less than an hour a week, and 28% never touch it, so the goal lands without a definition of what winning looks like.

The fix is to instrument the mandate instead of arguing about it. Automate the tracking so every AI experiment reports the hours it costs and the results it returns, then manage upward with numbers.

  • Log the hours automatically: a Zapier trigger tags each AI task into four buckets, output checking, tool learning, workflow execution, and copyediting, so a 30-day tally builds itself.

  • Run new workflows in shadow mode: send the AI version and the human version side by side, and record accuracy before anything goes live.

  • Roll it into one dashboard: an Airtable view shows the owner, kill date, token budget, and the measurable win condition on a single page.

Cap the pilot at 10% of team capacity, and you replace a vague order with evidence: real hours, real accuracy, and a clear call on what to scale.

The hours log is step one. What keeps a pilot alive is showing leadership the same numbers on a schedule, without anyone building a deck. Upwork found 96% of leaders expect productivity gains while only 13% report a well-implemented AI strategy, and that gap is where good work gets cut.

  • Stand up the scoreboard: Airtable Interfaces reads the tracking base live, and a scheduled automation posts the week's numbers to the exec Slack channel every Friday.

  • Show the five stats that drive a decision: hours reclaimed, shadow-mode accuracy, adoption depth (workflows changed, not just logins), cost per workflow, and pilots retired.

  • Frame the trend line: a rolling view shows the learning curve, so a slow week reads as progress in motion.

Give leadership the same scoreboard you run on, and the mandate stops being a monthly guessing game and becomes a plan everyone can measure.

If mapping this to your own stack is the hard part, that's the work we do. Book a discovery call and we'll scope the tracking base, shadow-mode setup, and exec scoreboard around your team, capped at 10% of capacity.

API Keys: Critical Security, Not Just Jargon

An API key can export your whole customer database in seconds, so who holds one matters as much as any password.

An API is the doorway that lets two systems talk without a person clicking through screens, and the key props it open. A login and a key to the same system reach the same data, but the key removes the human speed limit, so a script can hit every record at once. Over the past year, 87% of organizations hit an API-related security incident, and daily API attacks climbed 113% (Akamai 2026).

This is already playing out. In August 2025, attackers stole access tokens from one chat integration and used them to export Salesforce data from more than 700 companies, including Cloudflare and Zscaler, then mined the records for more credentials.

That reach is why a key is worth guarding. With one, an integration or vendor can:

  • Export your entire customer database: pull every customer, contact, and order record, your whole CRM, in seconds.

  • Contact your customers and change your books: a tool like Zapier can email or text your entire contact list, push invoices, and update billing and finance records, all without a person signing in.

  • Rewrite or wipe records in bulk: change or delete thousands of prices, contacts, or orders at once.

  • Unlock every other system you've connected: one key to a single integration can reach into the apps linked behind it, from team conversations in Slack to shared files in Google Workspace, working around the clock with no login required.

How to hold the door with a vendor

Before you hand any vendor a key, four questions keep that power in check:

  • Scope the key to the job: ask for access to only the data and actions the work needs, so a marketing tool cannot touch finance records.

  • Set keys to expire and rotate: only 45% of organizations use short-lived credentials, so ask for temporary keys instead of ones that live forever.

  • Ask what they monitor: a trustworthy vendor tracks how a key is actually used and can flag a sudden bulk export before it becomes a breach.

  • Confirm how to revoke it: know who kills the key, and how fast, when a project ends or the vendor leaves.

Keep a person in the loop to approve what each integration can touch and to review any key that reaches beyond its job.

Smart Words of the Week

“Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.”

-Peter Drucker

A conference playbook and a leadership mandate share one failure point, and it is the Monday when nobody turns either into tracked, instrumented work.
